Kamila Żmijewska: Ukrainian Flower and Horticulture Market Has Huge Potential.

Flower Expo Ukraine 2018 - XII International exhibition for flower business, horticulture, nurseries, landscape design and floristry in Ukraine gives new perspectives for the worldwide companies. Kamila Żmijewska, CEO of Public Relations Agency PiART for Cut Flowers, Pot Plants, and Flower Bulbs says that Flower Expo Ukraine is the leading and only exhibition for Flower Business, Horticulture, Nurseries, Landscape Design and Floristry in Ukraine.

The exhibition, since its start in 2006, has built up a very solid position as one of the leading trade shows for the entire horticultural and floricultural sector in Eastern Europe and the only trade event for Flower Business in Ukraine. Trade visitors from all regions of Ukraine visit Flower Expo Ukraine making it the very best International platform for the horticultural sector in Ukraine. A high number of quality trade visitors, a large press coverage and the great interest of governmental bodies make the event very professional and attractive.

Next edition is organized on 17-19 April 2018 at the International Exhibition Center (IEC) in Kiev.

During the 2017 edition, 95 companies from 9 countries (Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Israel, Kenya, The Netherlands, Ukraine, and the USA) have chosen Flower Expo Ukraine 2017 as the platform to launch or strengthen their business in Ukraine. Over 7.200 visitors made their way to the exhibition to source new products, make new contacts, obtain market information or visit one of the numerous floral demonstrations. Flower shows kicked off with Jamala, the Ukrainian winner of the 2016 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, baptizing the new Stokolex “Jamala Tulip”, was a good promotion for the show as it attracted a large audience and created a positive start of the exhibition. Visitors were impressed by a unique demo programme organized by top floral designers like Peter van der Sluis and Ton van Jaarsveld of FlowerFame from The Netherlands and by the Ukrainian Association of Florists and Ascania Flora.

In 2018 Polish companies are awaiting because Ukrainian growers have already started producing flowers for the Polish market due to Free Trade Agreement. For example, a big market player Ascania Flora is already exporting to Poland.

In 2017 the Ukrainian economy grew by 2,5% according to the latest figures from the World Bank. For 2018 a further economic growth of 3% is forecasted. The free trade agreement between the EU and Ukraine that was implemented in 2016 and the reforms that the government is taking are surely contributing to these positive figures. Exhibitors admit that the Ukrainian flower market is making its way up and consumption is increasing again.

Flower Expo Ukraine is being organized by experienced organizers from the Netherlands (Nova Exhibitions BV) and Ukraine (CoD Exhibitions Ltd.) under the patronage of the Flower Council of Ukraine and each year the exhibition brings together industry professionals from the horticultural sector from around Ukraine and other CIS Countries.
